Absence Reporting Process

Please read through the information below as a reminder of how to advise the school of any absences for your child/young person. It is important that any absence from school is advised to the school as early as possible.

Reporting Child Absence from School

Absences should ideally be reported before 9am on the day of the absence, and daily until such times as the pupil returns to school.  

If your child/children are absent / to be absent from school you must let the school know by one of the following ways. 

• Voicemail messages can be left by calling 01561 400665 and choosing option 1, 

• an email can be sent to:  auchenblae.sch@aberdeenshire.gov.uk

• Through the Xpressions App by creating a new message providing the date(s) and reason for absence

• Coming SOON - Absences can be reported through Parents Portal (Term 4 2025 onwards)

If your child has been sick or had an upset stomach they should not return to school within 48 hours of their last episode.

Please note that absences for holidays will be recorded as Unauthorised Absence.
